My taste in music is trash

in my opinion, it is kinda all over the place I mean look through my silly little spotify playlist that is like over 200 hours long. even in that playlist it is kinda random of what plays, like it could go from some hard rock to cheap shop from the scott pilgrim game, which I need to put down on stuff I do like.... anyway but as the title says it is garbage, in my opinion obviously, I try to listen to a bit of everything, like only recently I got into kung fu kenny lamar, but if you must know what I listen to for the most part, I listen to

ROCK

mostly stuff around that genre, including stuff like nu metal, and funk metal ( god bless the amazing sound tom morello can make with his guitars), pop punk ( mostly those early 2000s bands like fall out boy, don't worry they will get a section in a bit, and I guess mcr),punk, and a bit of grunge. I will go in depth on my taste in pop punk and grunge in a bit. but for now just know I love rock with a sprinkle of hip hop and jazz.

pop punk and its consequences to my music taste

well and I guess grunge as well because I will talk about that in this portion as well, BUT, I love pop punk, it seems kinda dumb because on its own I FUCKING hate pop music with a burning passion, well modern pop, stuff from like the early 2010s are still amazing because they have the heart of someone who actually enjoyed what they do, but pop punk, it makes my little ear holes scream with joy, and I blame one band for this, fall out boy, I love this band with all my heart, patrick stump is one of the many reasons I started getting into music in the first place, and with that being said, I really have a love hate relationship with this, reason being that if I didn't really listen to bands like fall out boy in my youth I probably wouldn't have found more of the other bands that I like, IE: weezer, green day (I really only listened to amreican idiot, father of all, and I think that one solo thing billie joe armstrong did durring covid) nirvana, and others I might get into, if I feel like it, I only recently got back to listening to bands like fall out boy, recent as in, since the start of my sophmore year, because most of the other time was taken by

NIRVANA and the curse of cobain

well the curse is more of I love nirvana, and for the longest time I only listened to them for a long while after covid hit, I think I found them out via rocksmith, when I played heart shaped box for the first time, and at that moment I realized "man this is not for me" because I was like in 4th 5th grade and did not understand shit about what I like music wise, but it was like end of 7th grade when I gave a good listen to nevermind, and got through that first half with the end of polly thought it was alright and then... I heard it, just the beggining of territorial pissings, and I knew what was going to happen, I started listening to them more, and more, and boom I was hooked, after that first run through of nevermind, it kinda changed me for the better I assume, and then I took a delve into their first album, bleach, and that was a trip and a half, I thought "man this shit is pretty good" and then right before I could finish it, I heard the PEAK that is floyd the barber and love buzz, both great songs and my life changed even more, my step mom almost made me listen to other bands, I told her to shut up and stop trying to make me not listen to bands I like. and that is the point I realized I had a problem, but who cares this was the true reason I got back to playing guitar.
